A formerly deluxe roadside motel, just hanging on. It has a steakhouse which looked nice, but was closed on Tuesday night.
Recently re-opened, run by an earnest young couple for whom I wish nothing but the best. You can get a rooms with your own tub, or for cheaper a regular room like mine, which is still quite nice, with a spacious kitchenette. With one of these rooms you can use the private tubs all evening. There are four more or less identical private tubs to choose from. They are open to the public until 3pm after that they are solely for the use of us lucky lodgers. :) You fill your tub from empty each time, so hygiene is pretty good, I think.
Shabby but neat little Willits motel on a quiet stretch of old 101 between downtown and the Safeway intersection. Looks nice from the road, looks really shabby around back, but once inside the room is pretty nice. Next door to the Mariposa Market, which is handy on the morning.
Historic hotel in the very heart of downtown Hot Springs. Nice hot tub, I'm sure the pool is nice in the summer. A short walk to the Hot Springs Visitors Center.
This is a no frills place, but perfect for what I need tonight, which is a place to wait out a record-breaking cold snap.
The camping area is just a gravel lot right behind the motel, but it's a beautiful setting right next to the creek, less than 100 yards from the hot springs. Small town, everything there is within ½ mile. He gave me a deal since it's Monday night off season.
cool old place with all the usual McMenamin's amenities. Parking is two blocks away. Downtown McMinnville is pretty cool, nice restaurants, nice coffee spots
Run down but quite nice basically. It seems to be run by a local rehab place so the workers look scary but are quite nice!
pretty cheap, had a coupon in the coupon book, on the hill north oflovely downtown Depoe Bay. I enjoyed my stay!
Right next to the movie museum at the south end of Lone Pine. Can walk to the pizza place.
Was called the Bear Lake Lodge until recently. The old motel seems to be some kind of doomed placeholder for a deluxe extended stay place "coming soon". Great location, the lake directly in back, pizza place to the north and a nice modern place that even serves beer to the south ... which turns out to be the same owners as the motel.
I didn't go here, but it looked really high class. Hotel with a bunch of hot pools outside
Hostel-style lodging in a cool-looking renovated brewery building behind the actual Mitzpah. Register in the hotel, walk out the back door and across the street and there you are.
Modest motel with a Perkins restaurant in downtown Great Falls. Checkout time is 1 pm!
The lodge itself is not fancy, just a standard-issue two story motel with paper-thin walls. But it's got a restaurant and a bar and all those lovely soaking pools, so it's fancy to me! The motel is a rectangle enclosing the pool area - 6-7 pools, a couple very hot, a big pool where the kids hang out, and a bar area over in the corner. Cool Rat Pack-y kind of place.
Crummy little place, but nice tv and good wifi. Oakridge has a real Appalachian feel to it, not in a good way.
quite deluxe and pleasant, no reason to be here except for the hospital, wonderful breakfast included, nice people
One of the cheaper motels in town, and for good reason! The room itself is nice. Motel 6 is (IMO), kind of the Target of motel chains in that it offers quite a bit more style than it's competitors. There's a bar/restaurant on the lot that's very handy. Just pack up in the morning and walk to breakfast.
In the good part of downtown Bishop. The funky little Bishop AAA office is right across the street, restaurants and coffee shops a block away.
